Contact UsTravel insurance provides coverage for the costs, losses, and expenses that may arise during a trip. It protects policyholders against various types of losses they may face while traveling, such as baggage or passport loss, flight delays, flight cancellations, and medical expenses. The travel insurance policy acts as a safety net that provides peace of mind while traveling.
Travel Insurance accompanies travelers on their trips, ensuring they can travel smarter and safer. The policy covers unpredictable events such as flight delays, missed connections, loss of belongings, medical emergencies, and adventure sport accidents.
The purpose of travel insurance is to provide financial protection and peace of mind while traveling. It is customized to help travelers experience rejuvenation and relaxation during their trips. Whether one gets injured while bungee jumping, loses their passport or wallet due to a scam, or gets into a legal issue for damaging a rental car abroad, having overseas travel insurance ensures they will be covered through it all.
Choosing a travel insurance policy requires careful consideration of several important factors. Here are some things to keep in mind before making your decision:
Your travel insurance policy will largely depend on your destination. You need to determine whether you are travelling domestically or internationally. Based on this, you can narrow down your options. If you're travelling internationally, it's important to check the travel insurance requirements of various countries. Certain countries will not issue you a travel visa unless you can show that you have sufficient cover in your travel insurance policy.
Your travel insurance policy choice will depend on how often you intend to travel. If you travel frequently, a multi-trip travel insurance plan may be ideal. These plans allow you to enjoy multiple trips without having to apply for a new travel insurance policy each time. If you only travel occasionally, then a single trip travel insurance policy may be better.
When selecting a travel insurance plan, keep the length of your trip in mind. It's a good idea to choose a policy that slightly exceeds your actual trip dates. Ideally, you should find a plan that offers cover for more days without affecting your premium. This way, if you have to extend your trip for a few days, you won't risk losing your coverage
If you're travelling alone, you can purchase a travel insurance policy just for yourself. If you're travelling with family, you should add each member to your insurance policy. Let your insurance provider know how many of you are travelling before purchasing the policy, and they'll take care of everything. This makes it easier for you to keep track of everyone's paperwork.
This is possibly the most crucial factor that will influence your decision. Every travel insurance policy has a limit on how much it will pay for various claims. For instance, you will receive a specified sum in case your bags are lost or stolen. Even in medical emergencies, you must keep your sum insured amount and claim limit in mind. If you have a low claim limit, it may not be enough to take care of all kinds of medical emergencies while you're travelling. Depending on your destination and travel duration, pick a suitable sum insured for your travel insurance policy. A higher sum insured will lead to a higher premium, but it will be useful if you need to file a claim while travelling
Arriving at your destination without your personal belongings can be a daunting experience. We offer the following covers to help manage such situations:
• Delayed Baggage:
It's common to have a story about a time when luggage was accidentally sent elsewhere or delayed. If this happens and you have our travel insurance policy, you can rest assured. Your travel insurance plan will help cover the cost of any necessary personal items that you need to purchase until your bag can reach you.
• Lost Baggage:
Having your baggage delayed is one thing, but if your bag is lost or stolen, managing the situation can be incredibly difficult. Luckily, our travel insurance policy can help you deal with this issue. Depending on the terms of your travel insurance policy, we will help reimburse you for the items in your luggage.
A delayed or cancelled flight could disrupt your itinerary. Although we cannot make up for lost time, our covers will help you deal with the financial loss.
• Lost Passport:
Obtaining a new passport in a foreign country isn't always easy. Your international travel insurance policy will help you with the necessary and reasonable expenses attached to getting a new passport made.
• Assistance While Travelling:
If something goes wrong when you're away from home, you may need some assistance. Our travel insurance plan will help provide you with all necessary assistance required, ranging from legal help to getting lost luggage and passports replaced. Our travel policy will even help with emergency travel services, cash transfers, and advances.
• Personal Liability:
Accidents can happen at any time under any circumstance. If you happen to be involved in an accident where somebody else is harmed or injured, it could cost you quite dearly. Our travel insurance policy will help cover any damage caused to any third-party individual or property while you're travelling. It's important to remember that the travel policy will not cover your family members or individuals who live with you.
• Hijack Help:
In the unfortunate event that the flight you're travelling on is hijacked, our travel insurance policy will offer something known as a distress allowance.
• Delayed Flights:
Bad weather or a local strike could delay your flight by more than 12 hours. If this is the case, you might have to book another night's stay at a hotel or incur some other additional expenses. Our travel insurance policy will help you take care of these expenses if your flight is delayed.
• Policy Extension:
The length of your travel insurance policy term often depends on the length of your trip. However, in certain situations, your flight may be cancelled or delayed for several days. In such cases, we will automatically extend the term of your travel insurance policy cover for seven days in case your flight is cancelled or delayed, and you don't have any other travel options available.
• Trip Curtailment or Cancellation:
In case of an emergency and you have to travel back or cancel your entire trip, our travel insurance plan will reimburse you for any unused, non-refundable hotel and travel expenses.
3. Medical Covers
We understand the inconvenience of falling ill or encountering an emergency during your travels, and that's why our travel insurance plans come with comprehensive medical coverage for international trips. This includes protection for COVID-19*, making them also known as medical covers.
• Medical Emergencies
Our travel insurance policy covers you financially in the event of accidents, illnesses, dental emergencies, or even fatalities while traveling. If you happen to fall ill or encounter an accident towards the end of your trip, don't worry. If your policy expires while you're still in the hospital, we will continue to cover you for up to 60 days or until you're discharged, whichever is earlier.
• Medical Evacuation
We are here for you in times of need. Our travel insurance policy covers emergency medical evacuation to the nearest hospital, as well as evacuation back to India for medical treatment if needed.
• Accidental Death and Repatriation
Though it's not something anyone wants to think about, accidents or medical emergencies abroad can sometimes be fatal. With our travel insurance policy, your nominee will receive the full sum insured amount, and we will also take care of the cost of repatriating the insured individual's remains to their city of residence.
• Compassionate Visit
We understand that having a loved one with you in the hospital can provide comfort during a difficult time. That's why our policy provides a two-way ticket for a family member to come and take care of you.
• Interruption of Study
For those with student travel insurance policies, we have you covered. If you have to interrupt your education due to illness, either your own or a family member's, we'll reimburse you for any unused tuition fees.
